Industrial-Organizational (I/O) Psychology is a field in which psychologists apply strategic and practical thinking to areas including corporate strategy, stakeholder relations, and organization design and operations. The specialty of I/O is characterized by the scientific study of human behavior in organizations and the workplace. It focuses on deriving principles of individual, group and organizational behavior and applying this knowledge to the solution of problems at work. The distinct focus of I/O psychology is on human behavior in work settings.
